Rent to Own Washer and Dryer

If you are on a very tight budget and urgently need a new washer dryer, what should you do? Rent to own retailers won’t share their prices online and I think this is because their prices are not competitive and they don’t want you to be able to compare them easily and realize how they are charging you a ton of extra money for a cheap washer or dryer. Low income people who use rent to own retailers have to pay high prices and high interest charges and end up paying more than better off people who can buy outright. That just seems like a bad deal.

So what is the solution? Actually, I think you have three better options:

Option 1 – buy from Amazon on credit:

Buy a low cost washer, dryer or stacked unit from a reputable and cheap outlet like Amazon.com. Amazon.com not only have really low prices, but through their partnership with Paypal and Appliances Connection, they currently offer 6 months interest free credit on an purchase over $399. You can get instantly approved for finance on their site. They say “Applying is quick and easy. It’s just a two minute application process and once you get approved you will be issued a credit card number that you will be able to checkout with.”

Option 2 – buy a Laundry Alternative washer and dryer:

Forget about buying an expensive washer dryer that uses a lot of electricity and detergent and costs a lot to repair when it goes wrong. Check out the Laundry Alternative Wonderwash Non-electric Portable Compact Mini Washing Machine. Unbelievably, it only costs under $50, and can wash your clothes clean in 2 minutes with no electricity, less water and much less detergent than a normal electric washing machine! This machine is a particularly good option if you have to do frequent small washes, or you are a single person. It is standalone and doesn’t cost money to install either. Some people like it because it saves them having to go to the laundry room of their building or the laundromat to wash their clothes paying at least $3 per time for the privilege. Also, this machine is very compact, so it saves space. You could use this machine for small loads and occasionally go to the laundromat for washing larger loads. “Deal or dud” review of the Wonderwash on Fox 29:

If you need a dryer that is cheap to buy and cheap to run, how about the Laundry Alternative Nina Soft Spin Dryer, Ventless Portable Electric Dryer. 3 Year Warranty, 110V Apartment Size. It costs just $159. It needs no installation—just plug it into a normal electricity outlet. Customer reviews on Amazon are very favorable–people really like it. Please click the link above and take a look for yourself.

Option 3 – look at our  other article about portable washer dryers

These little washers made by Panda and others are another cheap option particularly suited to single people. You can also get portable washer and dryer combos for apartments and they don’t cost an arm and a leg. Please check out our other article.

Conclusion

I hope this article has given you some ideas of how you can get a washer dryer without having to pay the extra cost of getting a rent to own washer dryer. I’d welcome your feedback below if you have any other ideas or advice about this.
